I attended my first yoga teacher training in 2011 with the Barkan Method Hot Yoga, when I was at a crossroads in my life having quit my job, moved to Cold Spring and just had a baby. It was not till a year later I would say I fell in love with sharing and leading yoga. After experiencing an amazing Baptiste Yoga One-Day Immersion with a senior Baptiste teacher, I was inspired! I originally attended to deepen my knowledge and teaching of yoga, one month later I took the next step in my yoga journey and attended Baron Baptiste's Level One teacher training in Menla 2012. That week changed my life forever, just like that-- I was lit up! Yoga changed my life and Baptiste Yoga opened my eyes to something bigger for myself in the world. That week I fell in love with the spiritual side of yoga through meditation and the deep self study practices that the Baptiste methodology offers. I felt empowered and complete in a way I had never experienced before. 

Baptiste Yoga has given me the tools to share transformation, connection, and creation within each role I play as a teacher, mother, and wife. For the first time I was standing in my own True North alignment and living out here in the world powerfully. I had a new drive to lead effectively and decided to open my own studio, Firefly Yoga in Fishkill, NY in February 2015. Previously, I had spent 2 years as the yoga director at a local hot yoga studio and teaching Baptiste Yoga. 

Yearly, I continue to grow within the Baptiste Institute. I completed 200 hour ERYT certified Baptiste Power Vinyasa Instructor. By 2016, I completed my 500 hour certification Tier 2! In the years to follow, I went on to apprentice and assist week long programs.  In 2017, I committed to FIT to Lead and by 2018 I had completed my Tier 3 certification over 1200 hours of training with Baron Baptiste.  

Baptiste Yoga has given me the opportunity to go even bigger by working as a mentor for the Africa Yoga Project, hosting global non-for profit yoga leaders and  leading non-profit programs in our community. I am now able to share my love of this practice and create possibility through yoga across the Hudson Valley and the globe! In 2016, my studio, Firefly Yoga, became a Baptiste Affiliate and am now the owner of 2 affiliate studios in the Hudson Valley; Firefly Power Yoga Fishkill and Poughkeepsie. I have a passion for leading teachers and have led seven 200hr teacher training programs through Firefly Power Yoga and continue to facilitate programs. I am excited to continue my growth as a leader through Light Year Leadership and the Baptiste Institute. My goal on the mat  is empowerment through creation, possibility, and love. See you on the MAT!
